The Family Scripts Memory Book!
We published a beautiful little book that can help you cast vision and preserve memories throughout the year.
It’s kind of like a time capsule/memory book/guided journal/discussion question guide…maybe most similar to a bullet journal?
When using a bullet journal, normally you make a really thorough table of contents for your journal that points you to pages that you add on throughout the year. It’s a brilliant concept and can really help you get your thoughts out into archives. But they take a long time to build and sometimes you don’t really know what to put on them. Well. We’ve done all the work for you.
It’s perfect to start around New Year’s, and to keep working through and filling in throughout the year.
We took a long time to make some vision-casting and mission-making worksheets too, to help you figure out what the heck you’re trying to do with this family thing, and why. It’s very healthy to take steps back for each family member and ask what their roles and goals are, and how they plan to make progress this year. (Note: that part is a little hard to do with babies. 😛)
We help you plan out what you’re days and weeks will look like. (And remember, this is coming from a family who had five babies in 8 years and lived in an RV for sixteen months. Oh, and the mom has ADHD. We highly value simplicity.)
We provide samples, too, to give you an idea of what your worksheets could look like.
In the “Preserved Memories” section, we provide lots of categorical pages for you to fill in sweet moments and memories throughout your year. (Top priority: keep a page of funny quotes and inside jokes, especially if you have a 3-year-old in the house.)
There’s also space to doodle through each month, inspired by these super cool “year of stitches” embroidery projects that summarize each year visually.
The end is one of my favorite parts: discussion questions! We paid $15 for a pack of discussion-question cards, and it was well worth it as a huge bonding experience with the kids. In this book, we include 9 questions for each month that correlate with the themes for personal growth that we will use in this newsletter.
We encourage you to cut them out, and bring them out while you’re waiting at a restaurant or sipping cocoa in your living room.
There’s more, too. It’s in full color and we’re charging the minimum amount that Amazon would let us…$7.99, free shipping with Prime. We get 38 cents per book, lol (which we swiftly reinvest into all the gazillions of books we read.)
We primarily made this so we could have it for our own family. By self-publishing through Amazon’s KDP program, it was effortless to make it available to you all as well. Let us know how you like it, and tag us @family.scripts if you share about it on Instagram! We hope it’s a beautiful gift to your family and helps you feel excited for the New Year.
