One of my favorite memories of being outside was when I was a kid, and all the neighborhood kids would come over and we'd play freeze tag and snake barefoot on the freshly mown soft summer grass until dark.

Getting outside cures every bad mood. I’m grouchy- I go outside and it’s like I instantly slow down and relax. After your challenge to get outside more, we started cooking a meal over the fire pit weekly. We didn’t have a table so we ate with plates on our laps. And then Adam decided to make us a picnic table. This is a weekly tradition that I will continue. I love it so much. We cook zucchini, potatoes and smoked sausage altogether in a cast iron skillet over the fire. It’s not fancy, but it’s good and being outside is the best part. I may not be as excited about this come mosquito time, but I’m already stocking up on mosquito repellent stuff.

I feel the most chaotic when our house doesn't have a lot of light, everything is a mess, and I feel trapped inside my home.

I feel the most peaceful when I'm sitting out in nature, watching my kids get dirtier than I prefer to get, and there's nothing else on my agenda than that very moment.
